There are ordinary days in your life that future you would give anything to have back.

The sound of your family talking in the next room. The familiar journey you complain about. Your favourite mug on the table. A sibling teasing you. Waking up with a body that still lets you move without thinking about it. Nothing dramatic happens. You call it a normal day and barely notice it while you are living it.

That is exactly why you do not realise how precious it is.

One day, a chair may be empty. A house may belong to someone else. A person you see every week may exist only in photographs. Even the version of you living this life right now will be gone. And you may finally understand that some of the best days of your life did not feel special while they were happening. They felt routine. They felt familiar. They felt too ordinary to thank Allah for properly.

Do not wait for loss to make you grateful. Notice what is still in front of you. Thank Allah for the meal, the laughter, the health, the roof, the noise, the safety, the simple things you have stopped naming as blessings. Gratitude is not only for extraordinary moments. It is for the quiet mercies that hold your days together. It is for the ordinary mornings that feel forgettable until time teaches you otherwise.

When Allah leaves goodness in your life, do not rush past it like it is guaranteed.

May Allah give you a heart that recognises His blessings before they become memories and make you grateful for what is in front of you today. Ameen.
