Maybe You Are Not Late. Maybe This Chapter Is Still Being Written

It is hard not to feel late when you keep watching other people arrive at the thing you are still praying for. Their plans move, doors open, milestones appear, while your own heart sits with questions. Some days you handle it well. Other days it quietly hurts. You wonder whether you missed your chance, whether you did something wrong, or whether the delay means life has passed you by. Comparison can make waiting feel like evidence against you.

But early, on time, and late only make sense when you measure your life against somebody else’s timeline. Allah is not writing your story by comparing it with theirs. He knows what you are ready for, what still needs to grow, and what could harm you if it arrived before its proper time. We cannot claim to know the hidden reason behind every delay, but Allah’s knowledge is complete while ours is limited. What looks unfinished is not outside His wisdom.

Keep making dua without turning someone else’s progress into a reason to despair. Ask Al-Hakeem to guide your timing with wisdom and Al-Fattah to open what is genuinely good for you. Keep showing up for the life in front of you instead of living only for a future milestone. May Allah calm the fear of being left behind, protect your heart from hopelessness, help you recognise the blessings already around you, and bring you to what is best without forcing what was never meant to be rushed. Ameen.

Your life does not become late simply because someone else reached a milestone first.
