When the Delay Is Outside Your Control, Your Heart Still Has a Choice

There is a particular frustration in being forced to wait when you are already late. The platform changes. Traffic barely moves. The train stops between stations. You check the time again as though looking harder could make the journey move. Soon every spare second belongs to irritation, refreshing and the argument in your head with something you cannot change.

You do not need to pretend the delay is convenient. Send the update. Check the sensible alternative route. Deal with what is actually yours to do. Then notice the part that will not change because you refreshed the screen again. Give one minute of that part to dhikr.

Say Astaghfirullah with attention. Say SubhanAllah without rushing through the words. Let remembrance interrupt the feeling that every unwanted pause has been stolen from you. This is not a claim that you know why Allah allowed a particular delay. You do not need to invent a hidden explanation for every disrupted plan.

The point is simpler. A minute outside your control is still a minute in which you can choose what receives your heart. Practical action and remembrance can sit beside each other. You may still feel annoyed. The queue may still be long. Dhikr does not require you to manufacture cheerfulness.

Let the next red signal, platform announcement or slow queue become a cue to return before frustration takes everything. That small return may not fix the journey, but it can stop one inconvenience from deciding the state in which you meet the next person.
