When You Feel Left Behind in Life

You can be genuinely happy for someone and still feel your own ache become louder beside their good news. Another engagement, baby, job, home, opportunity or breakthrough can make you wonder whether your life has somehow missed its turn. Comparison turns somebody else's blessing into evidence against you.

Do not shame yourself for noticing the pain. Notice what happens next. Does it make you resentful, reckless or desperate to force a milestone? Or can it become a reason to return to Allah, make dua honestly, and keep building the life in front of you without pretending you want nothing more?

Ya Al-Wahhaab, grant me what is truly good without making me bitter about what You have given someone else. Protect my heart from believing another person's abundance means there is less goodness available for me. Let me recognise gifts already present while still asking You for what I long for.

Ya Al-Hakeem, teach me to trust the wisdom I cannot yet see. If a delay is protecting me, let it protect me without hardening me. If effort is required, show me where to work. If a door is not mine, loosen my grip before comparison makes me break myself against it.

Your timeline is not a scoreboard. Keep making responsible choices. Learn, apply, ask, save, heal, apologise, seek help, and take opportunities when they are right. Tawakkul does not mean standing still, and effort does not require panic.

A slower chapter is still part of your story with Allah.
