When You Are Tired Of Being Needed All Day

You can love your child deeply and still feel worn down by another question, another snack, another story, another call from the next room. Sometimes the sound of your own name being repeated feels like one demand too many. That tiredness does not erase love, and gratitude does not require pretending parenting is easy.

The child in front of you is changing while ordinary life keeps happening. The mispronounced word will disappear. The tiny shoes will be outgrown. The hand that reaches for yours will one day cross the road without it. Their endless questions may become fewer, then more private. You do not need to turn every moment into a memory, but you can notice one before it passes.

Choose one interruption today and meet it fully. Put the phone down for one story. Look properly at the thing they are showing you. Answer one repeated question without making them feel foolish. Let one cuddle last a little longer. Then say Alhamdulillah without using your exhaustion as evidence that you are ungrateful.

Rest matters too. Ask for help where you can. Take the quiet moment when it is available. Repair after impatience instead of drowning in guilt. Allah did not ask you to be an endlessly available machine. Your child benefits from love, boundaries, presence and a parent who recognises their own limits.

You do not have to freeze childhood. Just be present often enough that you are not always waiting for the next stage to begin.

One day the noise will change. You need not enjoy every moment to know these interruptions are temporary.
