The First Morning You Forget to Check Their Profile

For weeks, checking their profile has shaped your mornings. Before your feet touch the floor, you look for a new post, a new follow or some clue about whether they seem happier without you. Then one morning, something small happens. You make tea, answer a message, get dressed, and only later realise you forgot to check.

Do not turn that moment into a test of whether you are completely over them. You may still miss them tonight. Healing may appear first as a little more space between urge and action.

Protect that space. Mute what repeatedly reopens the wound. Remove shortcuts that make checking automatic. Ask mutual friends not to send updates unless there is a practical reason. If contact is unsafe, controlling, harassing or unwanted, use stronger boundaries and seek appropriate support.

You do not need to keep collecting evidence about a life no longer yours to manage. Another update will not necessarily give closure. Sometimes it gives your mind another detail to carry.

Turn towards the life Allah has placed in front of you. Make salah. Eat breakfast. Work. Call a friend who asks about you. Let tawakkul mean taking responsible steps without inventing a hidden reason for why the relationship ended.

If the urge returns, pause before obeying it. Curiosity can be uncomfortable without becoming an instruction. Ask what feeling is underneath: loneliness, rejection, jealousy, boredom, fear. Care for the real feeling instead of feeding the ritual.

Forgetting once is not a dramatic ending. It is quiet evidence that your attention can learn another direction.
