When Your Mind Will Not Switch Off

Your body can be exhausted while your mind keeps working as though morning depends on solving everything tonight. One message becomes ten explanations. One mistake becomes a whole future. One unfinished task becomes proof that you are falling behind. The room is quiet, but inside you there is no silence.

Do what is practical first. Write down what genuinely needs tomorrow's attention. Put the phone away. Breathe slowly. Make wudu if it helps you reset. Then stop treating every thought as an instruction. Some thoughts are only tiredness wearing a convincing voice.

Ya As-Salam, place peace inside the part of me that keeps searching for danger. Quiet what is racing, soften what is tense, and return my attention to what is true. Do not let imagined conversations steal the rest my body needs.

Ya Al-Wakeel, I hand You the matters I cannot finish tonight. Keep me from rehearsing outcomes that belong to tomorrow. Help me trust that what needs action can be faced when the time for action comes, and what is beyond me was never mine to control.

Protect your salah from becoming another performance you judge harshly. Turn to Allah as you are. If anxiety, sleeplessness or racing thoughts are persistent and affecting daily life, seeking appropriate medical or therapeutic support can sit alongside dua and tawakkul.

Tonight does not need every answer. It needs a heart that remembers where to place its weight. Peace can begin before the problem itself is fully solved or understood by you.
