WHEN A FRIENDSHIP QUIETLY CHANGES

Some friendships do not end with one argument. They thin out slowly. Replies become shorter. Plans stop becoming dates. The person who once knew the smallest details of your week begins to feel far away, and you are left grieving something that technically still exists.

Do not let uncertainty turn you into someone who chases, accuses, or pretends not to care. You are allowed to notice the change. You are also allowed to respond with dignity.

Ya Al-Haadi, guide me to what is true in this friendship. Show me whether there is a misunderstanding worth naming, an apology I owe, a conversation we both need, or a season I am trying to force back into existence.

Ya Al-Jabbar, if this bond can be repaired in a healthy way, restore what is good without returning either of us to what was harmful. Remove pride from the conversation and make honesty gentler than silence.

Ya As-Salam, if distance is wiser, place peace where I keep searching for an explanation. Protect my tongue from gossip, my heart from bitterness, and my dignity from begging for a place I am no longer being offered.

Let me remember the good without using old closeness as a contract for permanent access. Help me accept that someone can have mattered deeply and still no longer stand where they once stood.

If I choose to reach out, let it be honest rather than desperate. One sincere conversation is different from repeatedly knocking on a door that stays closed.

I do not need to turn them into a villain to release what has changed.

Ameen.
