You Will Not Feel Like This Forever

When pain lasts, the mind can quietly change a feeling into a prediction. You stop thinking, “Today is heavy,” and start fearing, “This is how my life will always feel.” Even a lighter moment can seem unsafe because part of you is waiting for the sadness, anxiety, or exhaustion to return.

Your pain is real, but it is not revelation about your future. Allah has not asked you to know every tomorrow before you survive today. Leave room for change you cannot yet picture, support you have not yet found, and strength that may arrive in smaller steps than you expected.

Ya Al-Jabbar, restore what has been worn down in me. Where my heart feels fractured, bring repair with gentleness. Guide me towards the treatment, rest, counsel, support, and practical care that are good for me. Keep me from calling help-seeking weak when it may be part of the means You have placed before me.

Give me enough light for the day I am actually in. Help me eat, sleep, pray, breathe, attend the appointment, answer the message, or take the next responsible step without demanding that I feel completely better first.

Protect me from comparison with somebody else’s recovery. Let slow progress still count. Let one calmer hour, one sincere salah, one honest conversation, or one wise decision become evidence that hardship is not always static.

May Allah ease what feels endless, strengthen you through the next real step, and return hope to the places in you that have become afraid of tomorrow. Ameen.
