You Apologised. Now You Are Waiting to Be Forgiven.

You told the truth about what you did. You apologised without dressing the harm in excuses. You offered to repair what you could. And now there is silence.

This is where guilt can become another form of control. You may want to send one more message, explain yourself one more time, or ask whether they have forgiven you because your own heart cannot bear the waiting. You start reading meaning into every hour that passes and every message they do not send.

But a sincere apology does not purchase an immediate reply.

Islam asks you to take responsibility for what belongs to you: make tawbah to Allah, restore a right if you can, correct what you damaged, change the behaviour, and respect the boundary the other person has set. Their emotional timetable is not yours to command.

Do not confuse repentance with punishing yourself all night. Remorse should make you more truthful, more careful, and more willing to repair. It should not make another person responsible for rescuing you from your regret.

If there is a practical step still required, take it. If there is not, let the silence remain silence. Make dua for guidance, ask Allah to forgive you, and allow changed behaviour to become part of your apology. Pray your salah. Keep your promises. Become safer in the place where you once caused hurt.

You can regret what happened without chasing reassurance. Allah knows whether your return is sincere, even while another person is still deciding what they need.
