Your Life Did Not Become Smaller Because Someone Else's Looked Bigger

You were fine with your home until you saw theirs. Fine with your progress until someone announced a promotion. Fine with your body, marriage, business, children or quiet weekend until a screen placed somebody else's brightest moment beside your ordinary day.

Nothing in your life changed in those few seconds. Your attention did. Comparison can make a blessing feel embarrassing simply because it is familiar to you and impressive things are arriving from somewhere else.

Return your gaze to what Allah has actually placed in your hands. Let shukr become specific. Name the person who still answers you. The meal you can eat. The salah you are able to make. The room where you can rest. The skill you are slowly learning. The problem that did not happen. The mercy you stopped noticing because it became normal.

This does not mean you must stop wanting growth. Apply for the role. Save for the home. Improve your health. Learn the skill. Make responsible plans. But do not make another person's visible timeline the judge of whether your own life has value.

If an account repeatedly leaves you envious, ashamed or unable to see your blessings, step away from it. Muting something can be an act of honesty about what your heart currently handles well. You do not need to stare at what weakens gratitude just to prove it cannot affect you.

Your life does not need to look impressive from across a screen to contain purpose, worship, tenderness and mercy.
