Before You Win the Argument, Remember You Will Both Return to Allah

An argument can make the next five minutes feel like the whole world. You want the last word, the admission, the screenshot, the message that proves you were right.

Then pride enters quietly, and winning becomes more urgent than fairness.

Remembering the akhirah does not mean staying silent in the face of harm. Boundaries, evidence, mediation, safeguarding, legal advice or distance can be necessary. Accountability is not passivity.

It does mean your conduct remains yours, even when somebody else is behaving badly.

Before you send the next message, ask what you are willing to answer for before Allah. Is every sentence true? Is every detail necessary? Are you exposing private information because protection requires it, or because humiliation feels satisfying? Are you exaggerating because accuracy feels less powerful? Are you using a real wrong as permission to commit another one?

You may still need to disagree firmly. You may need to document what happened and take it to the right person. But anger does not make your values optional until the other person behaves better.

Do not use religious language to frighten someone into silence, reconciliation or unsafe contact. The akhirah should make you examine your own conduct before you weaponise accountability against theirs.

One day this argument will stop moving. You and the other person will still return to Allah with your own deeds.

Pause long enough to remove the insult. Keep the facts. Choose the right channel. Protect what needs protection without making cruelty feel like justice.

You do not have to become unjust to prove that something unjust happened to you.
