The right person is not worth finding at the wrong cost

The right person is not worth finding at the wrong cost

You can want marriage deeply and still protect your heart while you wait. Loneliness can make almost-right feel acceptable. You begin excusing confusion, lowering standards you once considered important, or telling yourself that being chosen by the wrong person is better than being alone for another year. When waiting has tired you, desperation can start sounding like wisdom.

A relationship is not made right simply because you are afraid to lose it. Pay attention to whether it repeatedly pulls you away from your deen, erodes your dignity, ignores clear boundaries, or keeps you trapped in fear and instability. No person deserves a price that includes betraying your principles or normalising what is harmful. Attraction and attachment can be strong, but they are not the only measures of suitability.

Before making a serious decision, slow down enough to distinguish fear from wisdom. Ask people of sound character who know you well, observe how the person handles disagreement and responsibility, and remember that consistency matters more than intense words that are never supported by action. Give patterns time to speak clearly. Stay observant.

Ask Allah for a spouse who brings sakinah, good character, sincerity, and mutual respect. Seek wise counsel, notice patterns, and do not confuse mixed signals with depth. Ya Al-Hafiz, protect me from what harms my faith and heart. Ya Al-Wakeel, give me courage to leave what is not good and patience for what is better. Ameen.
