Do Not Abandon the Dua Because the Road Feels Long

A long-awaited dua can feel like travelling towards a destination you cannot yet see. There are delays, wrong turns, difficult weather, confusing signs, and moments when you wonder whether you should turn back. The uncertainty can become more exhausting than the distance itself. Yet the timing of the answer belongs to Allah, not to your fear. You do not need to know the whole route in order to keep travelling with sincerity.

Be careful with the thoughts that tell you your dua is pointless, that Allah will not hear you, or that hope makes you foolish. Shaytan benefits when disappointment becomes distance from Allah. Meet those thoughts with worship. Allah is As-Sami‘, the All-Hearing, and Al-Basir, the All-Seeing. He knows what you ask for and He knows what the answer would mean for your life in ways you cannot calculate. Keep your prayers. Keep making dua without turning it into a bargain. Keep asking for what is good and for protection from what would harm you.

You may be closer to an opening, or you may still have a longer road ahead. You do not need to guess. What matters is that the journey itself keeps bringing you back to Allah rather than away from Him. Let certainty mean certainty in Allah’s knowledge and mercy, not certainty that your preferred outcome must happen exactly as imagined. Your dua can remain sincere without becoming desperate. Ask, trust, work, and let Allah decide the destination.

Do not let an unseen timeline make you abandon the One who hears every prayer.

Make the dua again today, then continue with the next right step.

If you are choosing hope over despair again, say: Ameen.

For the heart that keeps asking without trying to control Allah.
