When Someone Took Credit for Your Work and Anger Followed You Home

The meeting ended, but the injustice came home with you.

You replay the moment your idea became somebody else’s achievement, your preparation vanished from the story, or your contribution was presented as though it never existed. Anger begins building a private balance sheet: expose them, withhold help, wait for their next mistake.

Protecting your work is not the same as planning revenge.

Document what you contributed. Keep relevant emails, drafts, version histories and decisions. Clarify ownership calmly. If the behaviour affects your role, pay, progression or professional reputation, use the appropriate manager, HR process, union support, grievance route or qualified advice available to you.

Islam does not require passivity in the face of unfairness. Sabr can steady you while you pursue what is right. Amanah should govern your evidence even when another person has been dishonest. Bring the anger to Allah before it recruits you into gossip, exaggeration or humiliation you would later regret.

There is a difference between evidence gathered for protection and ammunition collected to hurt someone. Hold that distinction carefully.

Forgiveness does not automatically restore trust. You can release revenge while making responsibilities clearer, changing how you collaborate, or requiring more written accountability.

Once the reasonable steps are taken, let your evenings belong to you again. Do not give one colleague your family time, your salah, your rest and the quiet your heart needs.

Their wrongdoing does not deserve a second job inside your mind.

Justice can be pursued without letting bitterness choose your character.

PROTECT YOUR CONTRIBUTION WITHOUT MAKING REVENGE YOUR SECOND JOB.

Save the evidence you need and choose the next proper channel while your words are still clean.
