Read the page slowly this time

Someone else finished another juz. Another post celebrates a completion. You open the Qur'an, look at your own pace, and suddenly the page in front of you feels too small to count.

Do not turn revelation into a scoreboard.

Allah did not ask you to make somebody else's speed the measure of your sincerity. Read what you can with attention. Pause long enough to notice what the words are asking from you. Use a reliable translation you understand. If a passage raises a question, seek trustworthy tafsir or qualified teaching rather than guessing.

A completion goal can be beautiful when it helps you stay consistent. Keep it if it serves your relationship with the Qur'an. But if the number makes you rush until the words barely reach you, let the goal become smaller before your attention becomes thinner.

If Arabic is difficult, keep learning without humiliating yourself. If concentration is weak, put the phone away for ten minutes and give those minutes fully. If tiredness is real, choose a smaller portion instead of abandoning the page.

One passage understood, remembered and acted upon can travel with you into salah, conversation, work and family long after you forget a page count.

Do not turn another person's progress into criticism they never gave you. Congratulate their good, then return to what Allah placed in front of you.

Tonight, choose depth for one small portion. Ask what it calls you towards, what it warns you away from, and what needs to change tomorrow.

Let the last ten nights make your reading more honest, not more anxious. Attention is also a form of reverence.
